What is LPG ?

Where it comes from
LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) is obtained during the refining process of crude oil, and unlike some other fuels, there is currently a surplus of approx. 4 million tonnes of LPG per year from the North Sea alone, and this is estimated to increase.

Once this gas is pressurised, it becomes liquid, and is pumped into your vehicle in its liquid form. LPG has a higher octane level than four star or unleaded, and does not contain any lead, or other additives. Once released into your engine, it will naturally become a pure gas, resulting in a cleaner more efficient combustion.

Performance & Emissions
Engine emissions of carbon monoxide are almost reduced to zero, and the lack of harmful acids and carbon deposits prolongs the life of your engine, and also reduces servicing costs. You can also expect a longer life from your engine oil, as this is not being diluted.

Performance is almost exactly the same as with petrol, and there is no difference in the driving style of your vehicle. Even cold starting is exactly the same as petrol.

LPG is become popular in the UK, having been used for many years throughout Europe. You will notice an increasing number of LPG pumps at your local filling stations.

We fit only the very latest SGI & VSI type of Systems

LPG Sequential Gas Injection (SGI)
This type of LPG conversion gives almost identical characteristics to the vehicles original petrol-injection systems. This new system, Sequential Gas Injection (SGI), has been developed at the request of and in close collaboration with several automobile manufacturers.

To satisfy their needs it has been important to retain the original characteristics of the car. So, after the SGI system has been installed, reliability and quality remain virtually unchanged. The key to the SGI system is a new gas injector, which behaves comparably to a modern petrol injector.

Advantages of the SGI System
Performance and driving characteristics almost identical to petrol
Quality and reliability conform to automobile-industry standards
Fast application development for the retrofit market
SGI concept meets new emission requirements and complies with EOBD
Wide variety of applications for the latest, heavily-loaded and sophisticated executive vehicles.

How the SGI System Works

Liquid Gas flows from the LPG tank to a vaporise / pressure regulator in the engine compartment. The liquid gas is vaporized in this regulator and the LPG pressure is adjusted to a suitable value. The LPG then flows through the common rail to the various SGI injectors (the number of which depends on the number of cylinders) which are attached to the inlet manifold. The SGI computer calculates the ignition moment and the duration of injection for each cylinder independently, resulting in maximum drivability and minimum exhaust emission.

Vapour Sequential System (VSI)
VSI is an abbreviation for "Vapour Sequential Injection", the latest development from Prins Autogassystemen B.V.

With this development a new phase has commenced for the LPG and CNG industry
The system is fully integrated "master - slave" with the petrol management system which makes the system EOBD compatible so signal emulation is not required.

By injecting the LPG the same way as on petrol there is no difference anymore driving on petrol or driving on LPG. You will only notice the difference at the pump and benefit the environment.

In close cooperation with Keihin corp. in Japan Prins Autogassystemen B.V. developed their LPG/CNG injector. Keihin Corp. one of the worlds leading injector manufacturer, ensuring OEM quality and reliability. The injector is perfect linear from 2,5 ms with a performance guaranteed and a long durability 290 million cycles (OEM quality). These specifications discern our injector from other injectors in market.

The ECM injector driver capability up to 8 cylinders. In combination with our special software strategy we can achieve the best drive-ability with excellent emissions.

Other changes in comparison with the first generation gas injection systems are:

1. Small and compact design suits all cabin interiors, via smart touch control
2. An extra dry gas filter
3. Compact design reducer for ease of installation
